RED CROSS TO LIFESAVING SOCIETY CONVERSION GUIDANCE
Preschool (ages 3-5)
Preschool levels are for children ages 3-5 and serve as an introduction to swimming strokes and water safety skills. These levels run concurrently with the Swim Kids levels and not one after another. Once a child is 5 or older, they may register in the Swim Kids levels. Please see our conversion chart below to help determine what level you should register your child in.

Swim Kids (ages 6-14)
Swim kids levels are for children ages 6-14. Swim Kids levels run concurrently with the preschool levels, not one after the other. If a child has successfully completed all preschool levels then they will go into Swim Kids 2. Please see our conversion chart below to help determine what level you should register your child in.

The lowest levels begin by introducing the child to games in the water and more advanced levels progress to teaching strokes such as front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke and certain lifesaving skills.
Below is a conversion chart to help facilitate the transition process from Red Cross to Lifesaving Society. If you have any questions regarding the appropriate level to register your child, please do not hesitate to ask a staff member about swim assessments.
